01 Peak 5
2022 Peak are celebrating 15 years and announcing their new €150M fund, Peak 5. I had the honour of creating an animation for this special occasion.
As with any moving project where you are trying to explain the idea to a client, a storyboard is really helpful.
In this instance I used a quite detailed one for all the short scenes in the fast-paced animation.
This way I was able to highlight the key moments of the concept and got feedback before even starting to animate. This, in turn, made the process way smoother and more efficient. It also meant I already had an idea of what the end product was supposed to look like and how to plan my time.
When it came to animating, I would say the biggest challenge was to keep the text-animations interesting and varying.
I didn't want to bore the viewer with all the text coming in and going out the same way. I think the transitions played a key roll in this; I kept thinking "how can this scene turn into the next in a seamless way?"
This thinking in combination with the fast-paced music really helped sell the idea. The beat also allowed the animation to move quicker while still making the viewer understand the content.
